Super Bowl XLIX Coming to Arizona in 2015

The Super Bowl (XLIX) will be returning to Glendale, Arizona and the University of Phoenix Stadium in 2015!

It will be the second Super Bowl at University of Phoenix Stadium.(Although Arizona’s third time hosting.) Super Bowl XLIII, followed the 2007 season and had a $500 million impact it had on the Phoenix area. “We know what an economic boost to our state it will be,” Arizona governor Jan Brewer said.

The Phoenix area, also known as the Valley, has made upgrades and improvements in preparation for an even bigger and better Super Bowl return! The light rail connecting Mesa (far east Valley) to Phoenix (central Valley) has been completed. Thousands of new hotel rooms and at least 25 new restaurants have been added downtown Phoenix as well!

Issues of having Super Bowl events spread throughout the valley were addressed by having the Super Bowl Village and events scheduled to be more centrally located in downtown Phoenix, although events such as the NFL Experience will remain out west 10-20 minutes at the University of Phoenix Stadium.

Check out more on the Super Bowl coming back to Arizona at AZ Central and AZ Cardinals.com
